Kathmandu, July 22: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has offered high respect to Pushpa Lal Shrestha, founding general secretary of the Nepal Communist Party.
PM Oli took to the social site to express tribute to the late leader on the occasion of his 46th Memorial Day today. He recalled that Pushpa Lal's thinking that the Communist and Nepali Congress should together wage a people's movement against the autocratic monarchy has been proven right.
"He (Pushpa Lal) translated The Communist Manifesto into Nepali with the objective of abolishing feudalism and establishing the people's rights and took leadership of establishing the Communist Party,' the Prime Minister said.
The Nepal Communist Party was established on Baisakh 10, 2006 BS in Kolkata India under Pushpa Lal's leadership along with Narayan Bilas Joshi, Niranjan Govinda Baidya, Nara Bahadur Karmacharya, Motidevi Shrestha, among other leaders. (RSS)
