Pradeep, Miruna receive best actor awards

By A Staff Reporter,Kathmandu, July 5: Actor Pradeep Khadka and actress Miruna Magar were presented the best actor and actress awards at the Canada Nepal Mountain Film Festival 2024 held in Biratnagar on Wednesday. 

Pradeep was selected as the best actor for Prem Geet 3 while Miruna was adjudged the best actress for her film Jari.

The event, held by the Film Director's Guild of Nepal and organised by the Federation of Artists of Koshi Province and City Cinema Koshi Province, Biratnagar, presented awards in various categories. 

The Best Culture Film award went to Jari, the Best International Film award was given to Canada’s ‘Love, Lust and Found and the Best Feature Film of Nepal award went to Bulaki.

The two-day festival, inaugurated by Narayan Magar, Minister of Forest and Environment, received a total of 43 films from five countries including Nepal, America, Canada, India and Bangladesh.

The festival featured films related to tourism, culture, mountains and the environment.

Likewise, film producer and director Santosh Sen, along with OSAR Digital's director Om Agrawal, were honoured with the Chalachitra Samman 2024. 

The provincial artist award was given to actor Subash Meche, director Indra Pariyar, actress Neelam Khawas, actor Rajendra Bhagat, actress Sarada Shakya, actor Sanubaba Subba, action director Hem Narayan Rajbanshi, director Deepa Narayan Rajbanshi and actress Renu Chaudhary. 

According to the organisers, the festival will continue next year as well.
