Mango fair organised in Bateshwor

By Bijaya Kumar Sah,Dhalkebar, June 29: A one-day mango fair was organised at Bateshwor Rural Municipality on Friday. To promote local mangoes, the mango fair was organised near the Health Chowki in Bateshwor Rural Municipality-1, Chitrapur.

In the fair, mangoes of different 20 varieties were put on display. 

The Magahi language campaigner, Phulgen Magahi said that the Water and Sanitation Consumer Committee Laxmini was organised the mango fair on Friday. He informed the fair was organised to promote the local mangoes and introduce the new generation to different mango species.

In the fair, varieties of mangoes were put on display. The students visiting from outside the district were taught about different species of mango trees and the guests in the fair were given free mangoes to taste, said Magahi. 

The mango fair was observed by Provincial Assembly Member Sharada Pahadi,  Executive Chairman of Gorkhapatra Corportaion Bishnu Subedi, General Manager Lal Bahadur Airi  and others. It is estimated that mangoes were planted in more than 300 bighas in Chitrapur village of Bateshwor Rural Municipality.
