Shooting of Mrityukosh over

By A Staff Reporter,Kathmandu, June 14: Shooting of the short film ‘Mrityukosh’ has been completed.

Directed by Madhav Raj Kharel, the film was shot by Mukesh Humagain with the assistance of cinematographer Rajan Kharel.

The shooting took place at various locations in Kathmandu, Lalitpur, and Nuwakot. 

The film addresses the problems faced by a man at the end of his life, particularly focusing on how the elderly in Nepal are affected by the recent migration of young people.

 Director Kharel has stated that the film aims to raise strong social awareness about this issue.

The film features performances by Tej Giri, Geeta Adhikari, Prawan Bhushal, Ligesh Bhattarai, Shantipriya, Rajan Thapa, Rajendra Pandey, Deepak Thapa, Namrata Kharel, Sumira Giri, Sapna Joshi, Rajan Kharel, Janak Singh and Dr. Rajiv Yadav, among others.

Presented by Era Production and produced by communicator Kamala Joshi, the film was written by Madhav Raj Kharel himself. 

Kharel, who has been active in the Nepali film industry for a long time, has directed Nepal’s first silent film ‘Dhunge Yug’, as well as ‘Birano Maya’, ‘Dhunge Yug 2’, ‘Kuineto’, ‘Durgamandu’, ‘Hye Be Karit Bor Bhor’, ‘Gadhimai’ and ‘Chithi. 

The production team has announced that the film ‘Chithi’, also directed and written by Kharel, is being prepared for screening.
