By Our Correspondent,Ilam, June, 13: People with disabilities in Rong Rural Municipality, who could not walk to the health institutions to receive health treatment due to their physical condition, have started receiving health check-up facilities at home.
Bishnu Maya Bhujel, Vice-Chairperson of Rong Rural Municipality, said that after conducting their health check-ups, red and blue cards and various materials were handed over to the disabled persons.
A health team of the Rural Municipality, including Dr. Nabin Bhujel of Mechi Hospital, provided health check-ups and other services by utilising every public holiday.
Bhujel said that wheelchairs and sleeping bags were also handed over to disabled people in all wards of Rong as per their needs.
The Rural Municipality has provided materials worth Rs. 400,000 to persons with disabilities this year.
There are 365 persons with disabilities in Rong Rural Municipality. Of them, 36 are red card holders and 65 are white card holders.
