Two ministers inducted in Gandaki cabinet

 By Phadindra Adhikari, Lekhnath,  June 11: The Chief Minister of Gandaki Province Surendra Raj Pandey has expanded his cabinet today.  

A member of provincial assembly of Gandaki Rajiv Gurung has been appointed as Minister of Physical Infrastructure Development and Transport Management and MP Fanindra Devkota as a Minister of Energy, Water Resources and Drinking Water on the recommendation of CM Pandey. 

The independent candidate from Manag, Gurung, who won has become a minister in every government formed. Devkota was elected from Gorkha Constituency 2. A cadre from the CPN (Unified Socialist) used an election symbol of the CPN (Maoist Centre) while running the election. Therefore, action is being taken in this regard.

Gandaki Province Head Dilli Raj Bhatta administered the oath of office and secrecy to two new appointed ministers.

Devkota voted for the Pandey government on Monday in violation of the whip of the CPN (Maoist Centre). In a 60-member Gandaki Province Assembly, Pandey received a vote of confidence.

Pandey, a provincial lawmaker from Nepali Congress, was elected as CM because of being the parliamentary party leader of the largest party in the provincial assembly as per the mandamus issued by the Supreme Court on May 29. Two seats of ministers are still to be filled in.

Chief Whip of the Nepali Congress Nanda Prasad Neupane said that when the Rastriya Prajatantra Party, which voted for Pandey, comes into government then all seats will be filled.
