By Anil Prajuli, Hetauda, June 11: The Naya gain of Taha municipaty-4, which lies in the northern area of Makawanpur, is famous for potato cultivation. The potato pillar has been erected near the Tribhuvan Highway owing to the popularity it received.
Popato of Taha is not just attractive bur tasty and delicious. A pillar of 70 kilograms of duplicate cauliflower and two pillars of 35 kilograms each have been erected.
According to Mayor of the Taha Municipality Bishnu Bista, pillars have been fixed in order to spread information about main professional identity of municipality and to promote tourism.
“Around Rs 500 million worth of potato and Rs 120 million worth of cauliflowers are sold every year,” said Chief of the Agriculture Section Sanjaya Tiwari.
Local businessman Raj Kumar Panta said that with the formation of pillar, many passengers commuting through Tribhuvan Highway stops their vehicles to observe the place and takes selfies.
The vegetables produced are sold in Kathmandu, Hetauda and other places. Taha Municipality is considered fertile land for tourism.
