By Fanindra Adhikari, Lekhnath,  June 10: The High Court, Pokhara, has issued mandamus to clear all illegally built structures around Fewa Lake.

The court has asked to make a work plan to demolish the illegally constructed structures within July including those structures that do not fit with the criteria adopted.

The joint bench of officiating Principal Justice Rajan Bhattrai and Judge Umesh Koirala made the verdict on Sunday and asked the concerned authorities to bring implementation of the work plan from July 16.

Advocate Manoj Gharti Magar had filed a writ in the high court on May 31, 2023, asking for a writ of certiorari from the High court against those covering the Fewa Lake's wetland area.  The court had made an interim order after the preliminary hearing on May 31.

Advocate Gharti Magar had sued Gandaki Provincial government and other authorities in the case.
