Policies of country needs to be business- promoting in nature: Minister Sharma

By TRN Online, Kathmandu, June 7: Minister for Communication and Information Technology Rekha Sharma said that businesses and business-friendly policies need to be made to protect businesses. 

Addressing the 2nd Nepal Mobile Entrepreneurs Federation Convention and 3rd yearly general assembly, Minister Sharma said that it is necessary to make policies, rules and laws of the country in business- business-promoting nature.

 “We are aware of this issue, but I think coming up with a solution is the main thing. The business sector is at a slow pace because of COVID-19, and the mobile business is also not being able to stay untouched by it. Plans, rules and laws of the country should be such that they cater to the needs of business and help in its expansion. The laws, regulations, policies, and rules need to be made business-friendly for business to move forward smoothly. The government is working on it.” 

There is some problem in taxing policy so preparation is underway to correct it. Saying that the custom duty on raw materials, materials in heaving so it has disheartened many entrepreneurs who want to start business in this sector. 

She said that discussions to start one mobile factory are moving ahead. 

Minister Sharma said, “The materials and raw materials are expensive when one wants to do production. The custom duty on raw materials, materials in heaving so has disheartened many entrepreneurs who want to start business in this sector. So, efforts have been made on the finance bill. I have also requested to start one mobile assemble factory.”
