KMC padlocks two pharmacies

Kathmandu, May 30: The Health Department of the Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) padlocked two pharmacies in the premises of TU Teaching Hospital, Maharanjgung on Thursday.     

The Panorama Pharmacy and the Panchakanya Pharmacy run inside TU Teaching Hospital were padlocked based on the complaints, said Sajina Maharjan, officiating chief of the Department, adding that they were breaching the rule.     

The Department added that proper temperature was not managed for vaccines; narcotic drugs were sold without permission; and storage standard was breached in the respective pharmacies.     

Maharjan further informed that study was being conducted on what actions could be taken to the medicine shops. (RSS)
