Highway subsidence obstructs two-way traffic at Nawalparasi Purba

Nawalpur, May 28 : The East-West Highway subsided at Nawalparasi Purba last night, thereby obstructing the vehicular movement.    
    
One of the busiest highways was depressed at Thumsi jungle of Gaidakot-9 at 2:00pm Tuesday, according to the District Police Office, Nawalparasi.    
    
Deputy Superintendent of Police, Dev Bahadur Paudel informed that the two-way traffic was blocked owing to highway subsidence. Works are on to remove a truck trapped in the caved in road.    
    
Similarly, eight passengers in a bus (Lu 1 kha 8413) heading to the east received minor injuries after the bus jerked with sudden brake handled to avoid road defect.    
    
Efforts are underway to open the road for one way traffic, DSP Paudel added. (RSS)
