By A Staff Reporter,Kathmandu, May 27: A two-day National Management Conference organized by People's Campus has concluded here in Kathmandu with active participation of scholars and students.

People's Campus chief Manoj Bahadur Kunwar said that the campus had organized the seminar with the aim of continuing academic research.

Along with PhD and MPhil researchers, students also presented papers in the seminar. In the conference, 19 working papers were presented, according to Kunwar.

Keynote speaker of the conference Prof. Dr. Arhan Sthapit said that active learning could not take place without the practice of listening to others and lack of patience.

"To achieve the target and reach the goal, we must listen to the customers," said Sthapit. "The teacher must listen to the students, the service provider to the beneficiaries, and the producer to the consumers.

If you don't listen, you will not only miss the intended message but there is a danger of the massage going wrong." The advancement of technology has made it easy to send and receive the message so the technology should be used in the academic exercise.

Another resource person of the conference Shankarnath Adhikari paraphrased the findings of his research on the impact of digital transformation on small and medium enterprises, while Shankar Dhodari explained to the participants the experience of a microfinance from Charaundi, Dhading in poverty alleviation.

Similarly, Rajkumar Shrestha presented his research findings on job satisfaction of teachers working in educational institutions in Kathmandu while Nischal Risal analyzed the performance of 10 life insurance companies in Nepal for a period of 16 years.

Prajwal Singh Thapa's research shed light on the cultural aspect which will be of great importance in the curriculum design which intend to empower citizens.

Thapa explained that the curriculum should be developed to foster 'critical consciousness'.

People's Campus chief Kunwar said that the campus would continue such conferences in the coming days. "This conference is organised to help colleagues involved in teaching have an exposure in research orientation," said Kunwar, "and the aim is to give research orientation to students as well."

He said that there was an active and enthusiastic participation of students and teachers in the conference held with the support of the University Grants Commission.
