blog

By Our Correspondent,Humla, Apr. 29The Nara road that passes through at an altitude of 4,600 metres above sea level in Humla district has been disrupted after heavy snowfall in the region from Saturday morning.

The road, which was reopened just a few days ago, has been closed after the road was blocked by a sudden snowfall since Saturday morning.

Pramod Bista, in charge of the APF's Border Outpost, established in Hilsa, said that the road was blocked in the Nara area of Namkha Rural Municipality-5 along the Simkot-Hilsa road section.

Bista said that the road was closed after more than two feet of snowfall accumulated in the Nara region and more than one foot in the lower Namkha area.

After the heavy snowfall on Saturday, traffic services along the road were halted. Bista said that the road cannot be resumed until the snow melts or is removed.

The snowfall has affected some businessmen who reached the region for their businesses in Hilsa.

Likewise, the people of Humla, who were preparing to go to Taklakot in China for jobs and businesses have also faced problems after snow blocked the road again.

A few months ago, in coordination with the Hilsa Simkot road project, the construction company had removed the snow from the section by using an excavator.

But after four months, the road has again been disrupted.
