'Stay away from politics', Education Minister to govt teachers, professors

blog

Kathmandu, March 31: Minister for Education, Science and Technology Sumana Shrestha has asked the teachers, professors and government staffs to stay away from political parties.

She reminded the law that working teachers, professors and employees in education sector should remain free from party politics. Their distancing from politics is essential to ensure quality education, Shrestha underlined.

Moreover, she also called upon the concerned bodies to initiate action against such government employees who have obtained political membership.

In her message, the Minister warned that the professors and teachers would be removed from their posts if they took political membership. "Once teachers are involved in politics, they are playing with the students' future," Shrestha argued.

The Minister also sought registration of complaints, if any, in the concerned bodies in case of such teachers and professors.(RSS)
