Kathmandu, March 6: The Finance Ministry has allocated Rs 50 million for the preparation of ICC Men's T20 World Cup Cricket Championship.
Member-Secretary of the National Sports Council, Tanka Lal Ghising, shared information about the allocation of such an amount for the preparation of the World Cup cricket championship.
"Nepali team is playing a big championship like cricket world cup. The National Sports Council through the Ministry of Youth and Sports had recommended at the Finance Ministry for the allocation", he mentioned.
After the selection of the Nepali men's cricket team in the World Cup, Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda had assured of not allowing budget crunch for the preparation of the World Cup.
Ghising urged the Cricket Association of Nepal to move ahead seriously for the preparation.
Nepal had made its place in the World Cup defeating the United Arab Emirates by eight wickets in semi-final of ICC Men's T20 World Cup Asia Regional Qualifier held in Nepal from October 30 to November 5, 2023.
ICC Men's T20 World Cup Cricket Championship is scheduled in the USA and West Indies from June 1. Nepal had played T20 World Cup Cricket Championship in 2014 for the first time.(RSS)
