8 dead, 10 injured in Palpa jeep accident

By Rekhi Ram Rana, Palpa, Feb 13: As many as eight people have died in the jeep accident at Chidis in Tinau Rural Municipality-6 of Palpa district.

Tom Bahadur Pun, Ward chair of Tinau Rural Municipality-6, informed that the jeep was heading to Chidis from Dumre.

He said ten passengers were injured in the accident.

Heramba Sharma, superintendent of police at Palapa District Police Office, said rescue operation was going and the cause of the accident was yet to be known.

"Eight people have died in the accident. Over 10 people are injured. Rescue operation is going on. Injured are being taken to Lumbini Medical College, Prabhas for treatment," said SP Sharma.

The accident occurred at about 4:45 pm, he said.
