Sarlahi, Feb 9: Sales of the wholesale market of vegetables located in Lalbandi are estimated to have been crossed worth Rs 730 million in the last six months.
Lalbandi Agriculture Wholesale Market Management Committee data showed that vegetables supplied from market across the country recorded worth Rs 738.2 million since July.
Manager of the Agriculture Wholesale Market Management Committee, Shambhu Prasad Ghimire informed that farmers have been selling tomato, seed, cauliflower, cucumber, chilly, including other green vegetables from this market.
Farmers from dozen of municipalities of Sarlahi, and northern Mahottari supplies vegetable from this wholesale market.
Vegetables gets supplied to Kalimati, Balkhu, Jadibuti, Pokhara, Butwal, Narayangarh, Birgunj, Janakpur, Jaleshwar, Sindhuli, and various cities of located in the east.
Ghimire said that the vegetable also gets exported to India.
The local residents and hotels purchase vegetables grow by the local farmers.
The wholesale market remains open for a whole day.
The main source of income of northern Sarlahi is the supply of vegetables.
