Speaker Ghimire discusses upcoming bill session with chief whips

Kathmandu, Feb 2: Speaker Devraj Ghimire and chief whips and whips of political parties on Friday discussed the upcoming winter session of the parliament commencing on February 5.     

In the meeting held at the Singha Durbar-based Parliament Secretariat, they discussed how the winter session, which is witnessing slew of bills, could be made systematic and effective.     

CPN (UML) whip Mahesh Bartaula said during the meeting that they drew Speaker's attention towards the need of drafting overdue bills and addressing citizens' concerns systematically in the upcoming session.     

Present at the meeting were Deputy Speaker Indira Rana, Minister for Law, Justice, and Parliamentary Affairs Dhanraj Gurung, Nepali Congress Chief Whip Ramesh Lekhal, UML Chief Whip Padam Giri, and CPN (Maoist Centre) Chief Whip Hitraj Pandey. (RSS)
