Myagdi's Khopra Lek receives first snowfall

By Thakur Prasad Acharya,Myagdi, Jan. 26Khopra Lek, a tourist spot located in Annapurna Rural Municipality-5 of Myagdi, received its first snowfall on Wednesday.  The Khopra Lekh, situated at a height of 3,660 meters, was covered in snow for the first time this year. 

The views of Dhaulagiri, Nilgiri, Annapurna, Gurja, and other mountains seen from this point were enhanced by the snowfall, adding to their beauty.  This is the first time the area received snowfall, and the surrounding mountains and hills are also concealed in snow said Adesh Tilija, an employee at the Khopra Community Lodge.

After the snowfall, the weather has turned very cold, he added. Gurja, Churen, Nilgiri, Annapurna, and other mountains can be seen right in front of Khopra Lek. In addition to Khopra, other renowned tourist destinations in Myagdi, such as Khayer Lekh, Ghodepani, Poon Hill, and Moharedanda, have also received snowfall. 

The farmers are delighted with the snowfall after a prolonged period of drought.  Similarly, residents have reported snowfall in Gurja, Lulang, Malkbang, Kuinemangale, Chimkhola, Thadakhani, Kuinekhani, Nangi, Sikh, and other settlements.
