Two killed, 10 injured in Tanahun jeep accident

By Amar Raj Naharki, Tanahun, Jan 10: Two people have been killed and 10 others injured in a jeep accident that took place at Sunakot of Bhimad Municipality-3 in Tanahun district at 9:45 on Thursday morning. 

The passenger jeep (Ga 1 Ja 6356) heading from Pokhara to Rampur Palpa veered 150 meters off the road into the river near a turning at Barathumki. 

Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Mohan Bahadur Khand, information officer at the District Police Office, Tanahun, said that a total of 12 people including the driver were travelling in the jeep.

Of the 12 passengers, 2 died and the remaining 10 received injuries. Rum Bahadur BK, aged 42, from Baudikali Rural Municipality-2, Nawalpur, and 55-year-old Jemlal Daru died during treatment at the GP Koirala National Centre for Respiratory Diseases.    

Police said the investigation into the accident is underway.
