One killed in elephant attack in Jhapa
By Lila Raj Khadka, Birtamod, Dec 29: A person died in an encounter with a wild elephant in Jhapa last night.
A 46-year-old Megraj Rai from Srijana tole of Shivasatakshi Municipality-11, Jhapa, lost his life from the attack of a wild elephant.
The police said that an elephant was taking away the grain after breaking the floor of Rai's house, and Rai came to the rescue where he fell to animal aggression leading to his demise.
According to the Police, the body of Rai was taken for post-mortem in the hospital.
The terror of the wild elephant has been surging in the human settlement of Jhapa district lately.
