blog

By Our Correspondent,Banke, Dec. 3: Locals of Dasgajja (no man’s land) in Bardiya district have claimed that India has started a survey for construction of road near the border side without giving any prior notice to Nepali authorities. One local informed that a group of Indian survey team visited border side near Badaiyatal Rural Municipality-1 of Danphe Village.

“Indian officials are carrying out survey work near Dasgajja for the construction of 20-metre-wide road, but I was concerned because there were no Nepali personnel present at the site.” Said a local resident.

The locals believe that India is going to construct the road very close to Bardia District. India has already constructed a roadway near Dasgajja at the border.

Bardiya’s District administration Office said that they have not received any information regarding the construction of the road by the Indian side.

“The Chief District Officer is on leave right now and we have not got information regarding the survey work conducted by Indian side for the construction of the road at this moment,” said Mohan Prasad Aryal, assistant chief district officer, Bardiya.
