Intangible Cultural Heritage of Pingliang from Gansu, China, attracts distinguished visitors

By TRN Online, Kathmandu, Dec. 1: The exhibition of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Pingliang in Gansu Province, China, has attracted distinguished visitors to the ongoing 9th Nepal International Trade Fair.

The Fair which opened here on November 30 is oraganised by the Federation of Nepal Chambers of Commerce and Industry.

A total of 210 exhibition stalls from Bangladesh, India, China and Pakistan along with host Nepal are set up in the fair which will run until December 4.

This grand event provides an important platform for trade cooperation and cultural exchanges among countries.

Among expo stalls, a stall from Gansu Longyi intangible cultural communication limited liability company has stood unique and its exhibition of intangible cultural heritage works have been highly recognized by the distinguished guests.

Accompanied by Qian Jun, Deputy Director General of Gansu Provincial Department of Commerce and Li Jun, Deputy Director General of Gansu Provincial Department of Foreign Economic Cooperation, Chinese Ambassador Chen Song and Nepali government officials made two trips to and from the stall. They stopped to visit the exhibition works from Gansu Long Intangible Cultural Communication Co., Ltd., including paper-cut, shadow play, straw painting, sachet and other intangible works. The distinguished visitors conducted in-depth exchanges with the company representative Wang Jinyi.

Pingliang "Intangible Cultural Heritage" culture as a pearl, for the first time to fly out of the country, appeared in the international stage and received a high degree of recognition and support from distinguished guests from all over the world, said Wang, adding, the unique artificial skills and cultural connotation of China's intangible cultural heritage has attracted great interest of visitors.


Ambassador Chen selected a number of straw paintings in the booth as national gifts for foreign exchanges of the Embassy in Nepal, and paid for them on the spot, said Wang. This marks the Pingliang "Intangible Cultural Heritage" in the national publicity and promotion activities to a new level, but also to further enhance the Pingliang characteristics of cultural publicity in the international market influence and reputation provides a solid guarantee.
