By Hari Krishna Aidi, Mugu, Oct 30: Police have detained a suspect after four days of mass murder at Mundugaun, Chhayannath Rara Municipality-6, Mugu district.
The suspect was detained around Sunday noon from Bich Bazaar (on the way to the municipality), Gamgadhi, the district headquarters.
According to the District Police Office, Mugu, the details of the suspect are kept confidential.
Birendera Thapa, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) of the District Police Office, Mugu, said that in order to investigate the killer, a special investigation team from Jumla, Kohalpur and Karnali Province Police Office in coordination with the Karnali Province Office had reached Mundugaun on October 28.
He said that the case is about to be closed.
DSP Thapa said, “It is true that a person has been detained based on suspension and investigation. Details of the suspect will be made public following further investigation on the matter.”
Karnali Province Police Chief Bhim Prasad Dhakal reached Mugu on Sunday to take the report on the progress of the case.
According to the District Police Office, Mugu DSP Birendra Thapa is assisting Chief Dhakal in the investigation of the crime spot.
A special team from Jumla, Kohalpur along with a trained dog had reached the crime scene on Saturday for the investigation.
