By TRN Online, Kathmandu, Sept.11: Minister of Health and Population (MoHP) Mohan Bahadur Basnet will inaugurate the vaccination programme against the Human papillomavirus (HPV).
According to Paropakar Maternity and Women's Hospital, Thapathali, Minister Basnet will inaugurate the HPV vaccination program which is to kick off on Wednesday (September 16). Vaccines will be administered on the third floor's OPD building of the hospital.
Vaccines will be given to girls who were born between September 15, 2008, to September 15, 2009. The hospital has requested to carry proof of eligibility of age while going for vaccination.
Along with the Paropakar Maternity and Women's Hospital, the vaccination program will be demonstrated on the same day in all seven provinces through Koshi Hospital, Narayani Hospital, Bheri Provincial Hospital, Surkhet, and Dadeldhura Hospital.
The government has a target to innoculate around 9,500 girls nationwide.
A total of 20,000 viles of HPV vaccines were procured from China for the purpose. The currently available HPV vaccine should be given in two doses in an interval of six months.
The government has urged denizens to administer the second dose from the health posts where the first dose was received.
