President's Janmashtami best wishes

blog

By A Staff Reporter,Kathmandu, Sept.6:  President Ramchandra Paudel has extended best wishes to all Nepalis living inside and outside the country on the auspicious day of Krishna Janmashtami.

Hindus around the world mark this day with reverence and devotion to Lord Krishna, the eighth

incarnation of Lord Vishnu.

Krishna was born in the Dwapar Yuga to destroy evil and protect Dharma. He was the eighth child of Basudev and Devaki.

The Bhagavad Geeta, set in a narrative framework of dialogue between the Lord and Pandav Prince Arjun, inspires the world to engage in Karma Yoga and maintain harmony in society by renouncing evil feelings like lust, anger and greed, the President said in a statement issued on the occasion.

The President hoped that this festival would unite Nepal's multiethnic, multilinguistic and multicultural society and promote religious tolerance and mutual respect.
