By TRN Online, Kathmandu, Aug. 30: Minister for Communication and
Information Technology, Rekha Sharma, also the government spokesperson, has said
that the MCC-Nepal Compact will go into implementation in the usual manner.
Minister Sharma made the remarks while responding to the queries of the
journalists in the press meet organized today to make public the decisions of
the Tuesday's Cabinet meeting.
"Implementation issue of the MCC went through dispute, dialogue and
discussion and we made the 12-point explanatory resolution through the
parliament, and as that was the time of protest, the solution was sought
considering the situation," she said.
She dismissed questions whether MCC will be carried out or not.
"Today, there is no question of implementation as it will be carried out
in the usual manner. I think the major point is whether the 12-point
explanatory note that we endorsed will be regarded as its part or not.
Therefore, for this the government is careful."
Referring to Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda's recent remark on
the issue, she mentioned that the government is in the view that the
explanatory note will be tied up with the MCC while carrying it out.
She said that discussion will be held as necessary to respond to any
problems if and when they surface in this respect.
