Aug. 20: Minister for Communication and Information Technology Rekha Sharma has
viewed that the campaign for good governance should be carried out at all local
levels.
She underlined the need for collective efforts of all local levels and agencies as their service delivery
can shape the people's perception about the government.
Addressing an interaction organized
by Pyuthan Municipality, Minister Sharma who is also the government spokesperson
pointed at the need of carrying out good governance campaign from the local
levels as they were the key bodies in delivery of the daily services to the
people.
She projected such a collective effort from all
local levels in line with the federal government campaign for quality service
delivery and anti-corruption would get a meaningful result in a short time.
On a different note, Minister Sharma pointed out the
need of all party agreement on road upgradation and expansion as the road was
the backbone of development.
There is need of such an all-party agreement with
regard to expansion of Cherneta-Bagdula-Sariwang road section along the
Bhaluwang-Pyuthan sub-highway, she said.
In the programme chaired by Bishnu Yogi, Mayor of
Pyuthan Municipality, members of Lumbini Provincial Assembly such as Tulsiram
Pokhrel, Nima Giri and Dhanalaxmi Shrestha, former finance minister of Lumbini
Province Krishna Dhwaj Khadka, representatives of local levels, stakeholders
and people to be affected by the road expansion were present.
