Rukum West accident update: Death toll reaches five

By Raju Lamichhane, Rukum West, May 25: The death toll of the Rukum East jeep accident has reached five.

According to Police, four people were killed on the spot and one breathed last on the way to the hospital. 

According to District Police Office Rukum West DSP Namaraj Bhattarai, Sanibheri Rural Municipality - 5's Deuchan Khatri (48) and Karna Banthamagar (70), Banphikot Rural Municipality - 8's Rekha KC Khanal (22) and her 22 days son Roshan KC were dead on the spot.

Sheetala Kusari (23) of the Sanibheri Rural Municipality - 5's has died on the way to the hospital. 

Similarly, 10 people were injured in the jeep accident and out of which four people were rescued by helicopter.

A jeep was met with an accident at the Banphikot Rural Municipality - 8, Thuli in Rukum West.

It had been said that an accident took place on Thursday morning. From the accident spot Nabaraj Pun of Sanibheri Rural Municipality - 3 said that a jeep having registration number Lu 1 Ja 1747 heading towards district headquarters Khalanga from Sanibheri Rural Municipality -5 Melchaur met with an accident at the Motikhola of Duli.
