By TRN Online, Kathmandu, May 22: The Police submitted the final investigation report regarding the fake Bhutanese refugee scam to the District Government Attorney Office, Kathmandu, on Monday.
Achyut Mani Neupane, Chief Public Prosecutor at the District Government Attorney Office, Kathmandu, said that the report was submitted by District Police Range, Kathmandu.
He said, “The report submitted by the police based on the gathered evidence will be analyzed and studied. The charge sheet will be prepared after a thorough study and will be sent to the Kathmandu District Court by Wednesday.”
“The police presented the report following its investigation. We have received it. Things such as what is seen in the police investigation and what is the basic evidence. Who will be charged on the case and who will not be? What is the nature of the crime? will be looked thoroughly in light of the evidence provided on the report and the decision will be made accordingly,” he said.
A total of 32 people are found to be involved in the fake Bhutanese scam, taking millions of rupees in the name of sending non-Bhutanese as Bhutanese refugees to the United States, as per the investigation of the Police.
