Journalists' minimum wage recommended to Rs 34,124

By TRN Online, Kathmandu, May 21: Minimum Wages Fixation Committee has recommended to make journalists' minimum wages Rs. 34,124 per month.

According to Minimum Wages Fixation Committee member Tenish Roka, Committee chair Sangeeta Khadka among other members proposed the minimum salary of the journalist Rs. 34,124 by meeting Communication and Information Technology Minister Rekha Sharma on Sunday.

The committee recommendation will be implemented If the cabinet meeting approves.

The committee has recommended making fifth-level journalists' salaries Rs 37,538 and sixth-level journalists' salaries Rs 40,900. 

Now, journalists' minimum wage is Rs. 24,600.
