By TRN Online, Kathmandu, May 19:The Federal Education Act is to be passed from the current session of the Parliament.
President Ramchandra Paudel said so while reading out the policies and programmes on education in the joint meeting of both houses of the Federal Parliament in the Federal Parliament Building, Naya Baneshwor
The government said that it will conduct a contemporary review of the school curriculum, and ensure that the textbooks are available at the start of the school session. Likewise, scholarships are to be provided through one door policy.
The high-level education commission is to be established for solving the issues observed in higher-level education. Education institutions of all provinces giving higher education except for specialized subjects, will be reconstructed under the umbrella of one university.
President Poudel said, “The Federation Education Act will be passed from this parliament. There will be a contemporary review on school-level curriculum.”
In order to expand medical education in a unified and planned manner, medical institutions will be operated under, the ‘One Umbrella Act’. Medicine Colleges are to be established in all seven provinces under an integrated foundation.
Likewise, to expand scholarships targeting children from humble backgrounds, the Mid-day meal program to be continued, and to make education a prestigious and attractive occupation while ensuring a good special package, said the policies
