Youth Empowerment Peace Classes organised

blog

By TRN Online, Kathmandu, May 8: To improve the lack of educational opportunities and create peace awareness, the International Peace Youth Group (IPYG) has organised Youth Empowerment Peace Classes (YEPC) with the participation of representatives and executives of We Can Group in Nepal.

Classes were special as the We Can Group planned to make the course available to more young people.

Online classes have been conducted on the themes of youth professional lecture, health and global citizenship education. After the education, they discussed their views on the peace project.

Representatives and executives of the We Can Group who participated in classes said that the content of all subjects is informative education, teaching the youth and working together to achieve peace.

Rajan Panthi, Chairman of We Can Group, said that they will work with the plan to educate Nepali teenagers about YEPC.

Amrit Karki, the executive member of We Can Group, said, "Peace-related videos and the real world are far from each other. The world is moving away from peace. The world needs peace. We have learned a lot from YEPC education, and I think we should teach YEPC to students. Students should learn it. And it is our responsibility to maintain peace."

As of 2022, IPYG has conducted Youth Empowerment Peace Workshops (YEPW), a discussion forum for youth around the world, 246 times in 93 countries. Through this, more than 41,000 young people from each country generally discovered through YEPW that a common problem voiced by young people is the lack of opportunities for students to get the basic education they need.

According to the United Nations' recent reports, despite education being a fundamental right for the youth, more than 250 million children and youths are still unable to attend school around the world.

We Can Group has been working with IPYG since 2017 to promote peace awareness among the youth of Nepal. In addition to IPYG, cooperative activities include peace speech computation and peace painting contests.
