By TRN Online, Kathmandu, May 1: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal
'Prachanda' has said that the government is preparing to form a high level commission
to investigate corruption cases since 1990.
Inaugurating the 8th National Congress of the All Nepal Federation of Trade Unions today, PM
Prachanda, who is also CPN (Maoist Center) Chair, said a separate probe
commission will be formed as mentioned in the election commitment paper of his
party.
"We have in our party's election
manifesto mentioned that corruption cases since 1990 will be investigated.
We are making preparations for establishing the commission for the same. I have
been stressing on three priorities of the present government: social justice,
good governance and prosperity. And to achieve the goal of good governance, we
will form the probe commission," said PM Prachanda.
He expressed wonder over the
way the most corrupt ones have been calling for investigation into cases of
bribes. "I understand they are trying to hoodwink the people. There is no
need to fall prey to their deception. Corruption will be investigated and a new
environment for good governance will be established."
On the occasion, he also viewed
that the main causes of climate change and natural disasters were capitalist
profit and haphazard development.
"We need to check adverse
effects of globalization and emphasize preservation of natural heritages and mobilization
of local resources in a socialist manner," said the PM.
