Thick snowfall in high Himalayan region in Taplejung (photo feature)

By Chandra Pandak, Taplejung, Apr. 2: A thick snowfall has occurred in the high Himalayan regions of the Taplejung district.

The unseasonal snowfall has been seen in high hills coinciding with the rainfall in lower areas.

Locals said snowfall has been continuous since Friday through Saturday.

Popular pilgrimage destination Pathivara which lies at an altitude of 3,794 meters has also been covered in the fresh snow while places like Ghunsa, Phale, Gyabla, Olanghungola, Yangma have witnessed a heavy snowfall.

The rainfall has elated the farmers although unseasonal snowfall has made locals worried as it can affect their life styles.
