Accident insurance for nearly 1600 journalists in Bagmati Province

By Ram Mani Dahal, Hetauda, March 28: Bagmati Province has ensured collective accident insurance to journalists of the Province. The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Law, Bagmati Province has covered accident insurance for 1,585 journalists from 13 districts under the Bagmati Province. 

Surendra Karki, Section Officer of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Law, Bagmati Province said that accident insurance of Rs 4 lakh per person has been covered for journalists through National Insurance Company Limited. 

According to Karki, an insurance amount of Rs 634 million has been insured with effect from March 19. As per the insurance policy, Rs 4 lakh insurance can be claimed in case of accidental death and Rs 1 lakh for treatment of accident by the insured journalist.  

The accident insurance policy has come into effect following the directive to speed up the insurance policy by the Minister of Internal Affairs and Law, Bagmati Province Ganga Lal Shrestha.
