PM Prachanda for an Act to govern NATHM

Kathmandu, March 27 : Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda' has instructed the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation to move ahead the process of getting an Act approved by the Parliament for the Nepal Academy for Tourism and Hotel Management.     

Speaking at the golden jubilee ceremony of NATHM here today, the Prime Minister said that even though the Academy has completed 50 years it is still running as per the formation order and hence instructed the Ministry to work for the Act.     

 Prime Minister Prachanda also directed NATHM Board of Directors and Executive Director and all employees to work for obtaining quality assurance from the University Grants Commission and ISO standards for international standards.     

Prime Minister Prachanda also urged the NATHM authorities to work towards taking benefit of globalization by providing new knowledge and opportunities to instructors and students through student-faculty exchange with universities and institutions in and outside the country.     

"There is immense potential for tourism in Nepal but skilled human resource with high quality is needed for the development of the sector. And the government is ready to provide all required support towards that end", he said. (RSS)
