Mother’s Group Collective Potato Farming

By Arjun Kafle, Syangja, March 23: Siwalaya Mother's Group of Arjunchaupari Rural Municipality-3, Agrikharka has begun collective potato farming.  

The Mother’s Group which was established around 2000 A.D would finance social and development work by organizing cultural program during marriage,  sacred threading wearing ceremony have now ventured for potato farming. 

The Rural Municipality has provided grant for fertilizer and seed variety of potato originated in Baglung Tarakhola.  

The Mother Group is doing farming in 15 Ropani rented land. The Group Secretary Bipana Kafle informed that 800 kg potato is sowed which is taken in grant.      

Treasury Chief  Ratna Kafle said the group has been getting together for collective farming when labor force is lacking.
