One killed, nine injured in Darchula jeep accident

By Lokendra Joshi, Darchula, Mar. 7: A person died while nine others got injured in a Darchula jeep accident on Tuesday. 

Injured Kali Devi Negi of Dharchula, Simkhola of Pithauragarh district of India breathed her last on the way while she was being carried to the hospital.

DSP at the District Police Office Darchula, Tarka Raj Panday, informed that the other three injured were referred to Pithauragarh, India, for further treatment.

He said that the jeep having registration number Madhesh Province 03-00-0340 fell off the road into the Lasku stream near Banga Bagar drinking water tank at Mahakali Municipality-4 on Tuesday.

It has been said that the passengers were pilgrims who came to worship at Dungri Temple. 

The injured are Jeep driver Mohan Singh Lothyal, 24, of Mahakali Municipality-2, Indian citizens Bimala Devi Negi, 7, Makhkhan Ram Negi, 55, Kiran Kumari Aagri, 6, Shanti Devi Negi, 38 and Diwan Aagri, 47, Jotbir Singh Kunwar, 7, Anju Devi Kunwar, 27 and Gurujot Sardar, 5.
