Singing, dancing reality shows winners to get Rs. 10 million

By Our Correspondent,Damak, Feb. 23: Singing and dancing reality shows 'Mero Dance Universe' and 'Mero Voice Universe' are going to be held targeting the Nepali-speaking artistes scattered around the world.

Intra-National Welfare & Support Foundation America, an organisation of former Bhutanese refugees and now settled in the United States of America, is going to organise the competition. 

Suren Sherma, Secretary of Intra -National Nepal, said in a press conference held in Damak, Jhapa  on Wednesday that   the competitions 'Mero Dance Universe' and 'Mero voice Universe' would be held and the winners of the both competitions would be awarded  Rs. 10 million while the second and third winners would receive Rs. 3 million and Rs. 2 million receptively. 

Senior actress Mithila Sharma, actor Dilip Rayamajhi, Shankar BC, Priyaka Karki, Keki Adhikari and Narman Rai are the judges of 'Mero Dance Universe' while Suresh Adhikari, Shiva Pariyar, Anju Panta, Pushpan Pradhan and Sujata Barma will judge the 'Mero Voice Universe'. 

 According to the organiser, in order to participate in the competition, one can fill the form through foundation's app and the best 120 contestants will compete with auditions from various places in Nepal such as Damak, Nepalgunj and Butwal.

The audition will also be held in India, America, Dubai, Thailand and other countries, and the best 12 will be selected based on the votes of the judges and the audience, informed the organiser. 

Ram Baniya of the organising committee informed that Nepali-speaking Bhutanese refugees living abroad have managed the prizes as part of the campaign 'protection of Nepali language and culture'. 

It has also been informed that direct auditions are currently going on in Nepal and other places abroad.
