Bagmati provincial Govt. announces public holiday on Feb 13 to mark People's War Day

By TRN Online, Kathmandu, Feb 10: Bagmati Provincial Government has declared public holiday for February 13 to mark the People's War Day.

A meeting of the Council of Ministers of the Bagmati Province held on February 7 made the decision to celebrate the PW Day and announce public holiday across the province on February 13, according to a statement issued on February 9 by Anushil Sapkota, spokesperson of the Internal Matters and Law Ministry of the Bagmati Province.

The then CPN (Maoist) had launched People's War on February 13, 1996 against the state repression with a view to writing a republican constitution through the Constituent Assembly which ended with the Comprehensive Peace Accord between the government and the rebel party on November 20, 2006.
