Fire destroys four houses in Humla

By Our Correspondent,Humla, Feb. 7:   Property worth over Rs. 8. 2 million was destroyed by a fire in Dadafaya village of Simkot Rural Municipality-6 in Humla.  

The fire gutted two houses completely while two others suffered  partly damages.

Food items, clothes and utensils of those houses turned into ashes. 

Police Inspector Gita Prasad Chaudhary informed that property worth  Rs. 8.295  million was destroyed in the fire. 

He informed that a report of damages prepared by Darapori police post was received by the District Police Office. 

He said the fire damaged four houses, two of them completely. According to ward chairman Balbir Shah, the fire broke out due to electric short circuit at the house of Chhakka Singh.

Houses of Chhakka Singh and Kali Singh were completely destroyed while the houses of Sursingh Singh and another  person were partly destroyed. 

 Local people brought the fire under control Sunday evening after an effort lasting for four hours. 

Personnel from the Nepali Army, Nepal Police and Armed Police Force were deployed form the district headquarters to the village after receiving information about the fire. 

As the fire took place in the daytime, no casualty was reported. 

Meanwhile, Simkot Rural Municipality has provided relief to the fire victims.  According to acting chairman of Rural Municipality Nanda Rawat, they provided the victims with the relief materials reaching Lagna, near the incident site.   

Rice, noodles, oil, soap, tent, bucket and mug were disturbed to the fire victims, added Rawat.
