blog

By Ganesh Paudel, Feb 3: 20 metric tons of cardamom is produced in Parbat this year. However, it is not getting satisfactory price due to lack of market.

The Agriculture Knowledge Center and local levels of the district have been supporting cardamom farming.

A local famers Urmila KC said that farmers are not getting satisfactory price for it. The price is so low that it is difficult to even cover labor cost.

According to the Agriculture Knowledge Center of Parbat, cardamom is grown in 60 hectare land.

However, farmers have been leaving cardamom farming as its price is not satisfactory.

The center helps to establish modern furnace and technology in cardamom pocket area. Meanwhile, it is not taking interest in marketing activities.

Head of Agriculture Knowledge Center Manita Thapa said the center is helping farmers to have connection with traders.

She said that the farmers are not being able to maintain the quality of cardamom, which has affected the price.
