President greets on occasion of Basanta Panchami

By A Staff Reporter, Kathmandu, Jan. 26: President Bidya Devi Bhandari has greeted all Nepali adults and children at home and abroad on the occasion of Basanta Panchami and Saraswoti Puja on Thursday.

This day, dedicated to the goddess of education, knowledge, art and music Saraswoti, shows the importance our society places on education and art and presents the maternal energy as the fundamental source of knowledge, she said in a message issued for the festival. Basanta Panchami also highlights the importance of nature.

“This festival also inspires us to stay energised and creative. It will contribute to the protection and promotion of our culture as well as strengthening of national unity,” President Bhandari hoped. The nation is marking Saraswati Puja on Thursday.
