Nawalparasi, Jan 23 : Bardaghat municipality has enforced a local curriculum in its public schools. The municipality has brought into implementation the 'Hamro Bardaghat' curriculum at primary level public schools within its boundary.
In order to familiarize the school
students about the municipality, the local curriculum was enforced, shared
mayor of the Bardaghat municipality, Shambhulal Shrestha.
With this, Bardghat has become the
first local government units of the district to enforce the local curriculum in
public schools.
"The local curriculum and textbooks have incorporated content about the tourism hotspots, art/culture, natural heritage, language, customs, major crops and herbal plants, among others", chief administrative officer of the municipality, Krishna Prasad Sapkota informed.
He expressed the hope that the
local curriculum would help enhance educational development and establish
identity of the municipality.
"We have put educational
sector on priority", mayor Shrestha said, adding that a local textbook
with 100 full marks was being taught as a compulsory subject in grade 1-8.
In line with the provision of the
Local Government Operation Act, 2074 BS, the local curriculum and textbooks
were developed and raught accordingly, Shrestha further shared. (RSS)
