Chitwan, Jan 17: Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Physical Infrastructure
and Transport Narayan Kaji Shrestha has said prosperity with social justice is
the single formula that guide programmes of the present government.
He said so while speaking
at a discussion programme on development held by Bharatpur Municipality in
Chitwan today.
DPM Shrestha along with
the ministry's secretary and director general of department of transport arrived
in Chitwan on Monday to observe and inspect the state of roads and other
infrastructures in Chitwan and surrounding areas.
On the occasion, DPM
Shrestha vowed to not excuse any form of corruption, irregularities, dillydallying
and negligence.
"Corruption and irregularities
are enemies of development and prosperity," he said, "If these are
seen in any sector, the government will not tolerate."
He said he has been
consulting with political leaders, experts and stakeholders on good governance,
improvement in transport sector, project selection and physical infrastructure
construction so as to make a radically positive changes in the sector since he
assumed the responsibility.
Making a site visit to
6-lane road at Pulchowk and the road area at central bus terminal at Aaptari, Minister
Shrestha directed the construction entrepreneur to complete the construction in
time.
DPM Shrestha will also observe the construction site of the signature bridge over the Narayani River and the 6-lane road between Narayangadh and Hetauda and take stock of their progress.
