Multipurpose Cooperatives have elected a new executive committee.
The Cooperatives 16th
general assembly held on Saturday elected an 11-member executive committee with
Puspa Raj Joshi as the Chairperson, Nanda Lal Tiwari and Basanta Malla Sharma
as the vice-chairpersons, Bimala Ghimire as the secretary and Maya Acharya as
the treasurer.
Bom Bahadur Khadka, Krishna Prasad Bhandari, Shyam Kumar Thapa, Binod
Aryal, Yashoda Khanal and Prakash Mainali have been elected as the executive
members.
The executive committee was elected unopposed.
Similarly, the general assembly also elected a 3-member account supervision
committee with Radha Chalise as coordinator, Amir Maiya Ranjit and Lal Bahadur
Kumal as the members.
The cooperatives also awarded the children of shareholders who scored the highest in the SEE results.
The awardees are Niraj Yadav, Mridula Dhunganga, Pranit Shakya, Abhijon
Dhungana, Spandan Upadhyaya, Niru Shrestha and Subigya Karki.
Speaking on the inaugural
session, executive Chairman of the Gorkhapatra Cooperation Bishnu Prasad Subedi
observed that the cooperatives have played an important role in enhancing
cooperation and coordination among the employees.
He expressed hope that
the energy of unity generated by means of the cooperatives could also be
channeled for the further development of the Cooperation.
Similarly, general manager Lal Bahadur Airi viewed that cooperatives sector has played a vital role in overall economic development of the country in addition to enhancing leadership development and socialization.
