Sharma of CPN (Maoist Center) appointed Karnali Chief Minister

By Our Correspondent, Surkhet, Jan 11: Raj Kumar Sharma of CPN (Maoist Center) has been appointed the Chief Minister of Karnali Province.

Province Chief Tilak Pariyar appointed Sharma the Chief Minister as per Article 168 (2) of the Constitution.

Sharma has been supported by CPN (UML), Rashtriya Prajatantra Party (RRP) and CPN (Unified Socialist).

CPN (Maoist Center) has 13 members, UML 10, RPP 1 and CPN (US) 1, which in total make up 25, in the provincial assembly of Karnali.

The Provincial Assembly is a 40-member body and with 25 lawmakers in total, the MC, UML, RPP and US make up the majority in the house.
