Thamel organising festival today

By A Staff Reporter,Kathmandu, Dec. 31: New Year’s Eve is set to be a party at Thamel as the Thamel Tourism Development Council has decided to organise a street festival.The Council will see off the Gregorian year 2022 and welcome the new year 2023 on Saturday with a grand street festival on Saturday. The festival will be organised at the main road in front of the Employees Provident Fund building. 

Organising a press conference on Friday, the Council leadership said that the fest, which will be a night celebration starting from 5.30 pm and continuing till 12.30 am, was aimed at reviving tourism after two years of COVID-19 pandemic and boosting business. It expects to see around 100,000 people visiting the fair.

The Council informed that Vice President Nanda Bahadur Pun would be the chief guest at the festival which has the slogan ‘Visit Thamel, Stay in Thamel, Roam around Thamel, Enjoy Thamel’.
