By A Staff Reporter,Kathmandu, Dec. 29: Nepal Academy of Fine Arts (NAFA) has published 41 books on various dimension of artists and art in the last four years. On the occasion of the completion of the third term of the Academic Council Chancellor KK Karmacharya, works done in the last four years were shared.
Chancellor Karmacharya said that during his tenure, his team succeeded in publishing many books with various studies, researches and explorations. In the 13 years of the Academy's establishment, the academy has published 65 art research titles including the books.
After the damages caused to the Sita Bhawan, which was being used by the Academy, the National Fine Arts Exhibition was conducted in a rented hall, Karmacharya informed. Similarly, it was informed that it held academic assembly five times and national fine art exhibitions four times and published 41 books, organised 13 study tours, 50 art workshops and 18 seminars in four years.
Construction of the 17-feet (excluding the pedestal) statue of Aranico, the national pride of the country, has been started and is yet to be completed due to lack of funds. Outgoing Chancellor Karmacharya informed that during his four years’ tenure, they were able to complete 97.22 per cent works.
